Sharjah Sustainable City (SSC) is a pioneering residential community in the Al Rahmaniya district of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Developed through a strategic partnership between the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Diamond Developers, SSC stands as the emirate’s first fully integrated, net-zero energy community, setting a benchmark for sustainable urban living in the region.
Development Timeline
2003: The initial concept for SSC was conceived.
March 2019: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, officially launched the project.
2020: Construction commenced with an investment of AED 2 billion (approximately USD 545 million).
2022: The first phase of residential units was handed over to homeowners.
2023: Completion of the final phase, delivering a total of 1,250 villas across four phases.
